This Privacy Policy explains how Private.Money ("we", "us") collects, uses and shares information when you visit private.money (the "Site"). By using the Site you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Information you provide: when you submit a form (loan match request, investor list, lender application, contest entry, job application, pledge, newsletter, contact), we collect what you enter, such as name, email, phone, location, property and deal details, self-reported credit band, experience, investment preferences and messages. We never ask for Social Security numbers, bank account numbers or card numbers.
- Automatically collected information: like most websites, our hosting provider and advertising partners may receive your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referring URLs and timestamps.
- Local storage: we store small preferences in your browser (theme, cookie choice, whether you've seen a popup). These stay on your device.
2. How we use information
- To respond to you and deliver what you requested.
- To share loan requests with lenders and brokers whose programs may fit, only when you consent on the request form.
- To send newsletters or updates you signed up for (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To run contests, evaluate job applications and process pledges.
- To operate, secure and improve the Site, and to comply with law.
3. Advertising and Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and other websites.

4. Service providers
- Hosting: GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.) serves the Site.
- Forms: form submissions are transmitted securely via FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) to our inbox.
- Fonts: Google Fonts.
- Video: YouTube videos load only when you press play, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced (youtube-nocookie.com) mode; YouTube's policies then apply.
- Payments: if you pledge support, payment is completed through a third-party processor (such as Stripe or PayPal) under its own privacy policy. We don't collect card data on this Site.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information: (a) with lenders and brokers when you request matches and consent; (b) with lender or fund sponsors if you opt in to introductions from the investor list; (c) with service providers acting for us; (d) when required by law or to protect rights and safety; (e) in a business transfer, such as a sale of the Site, subject to this policy. Under some U.S. state laws, sharing for cross-context advertising or referral compensation may be a "sale" or "sharing"; you may opt out by contacting us.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or Canada's PIPEDA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent and to opt out of sale or sharing. To make a request, use our contact form and choose "Privacy / data request". We will verify and respond within the time required by law. You won't be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
7. Retention and security
We keep submissions only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete them. We use HTTPS and reputable providers, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. Children
The Site is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International visitors
Information may be processed in the United States, Canada and other countries where our providers operate.
10. Changes
We may update this policy and will revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
